Toy Box
Toys are not essential to D/s or BDSM, all you need is the human mind and a little imagination. Toys can, however, offer new directions, new facets and new angles on play.
From adding style and image, with a Domme's high boots, a submissive's corset, a crop hanging from the waist, to a ticklish scrap of fake fur - from collars and cuffs to literally adding that extra spark to your love life, there are a huge variety of toys and accessories out there. Whatever your kink, your perversion and your pleasure, there is bound to be something for you to either accentuate your scenes, perfect your lifestyle, or simply ... play with toys.
As we've already indicated, there is a huge variety out there. We are hoping to be able to scratch that surface a little, give an idea as to what is out there, what they're called, what they do and maybe some fun ways to use them. Finally, when that one toy has captured your imagination, go to the toy stores page for a huge list of supliers.
A Brief Overview
Creating A Basic Toy Box
Buying custom made toys can be expensive. Good quality leather-, rope- and metal-work takes a lot of time and effort, with the prices reflecting that.
While nothing can quite compare with a range of custom made toys, it is still possible to improvise for a fraction of the cost. For less than the cost of a single well made toy, you can set up a well equipped basic toy box that you can use as the basis to build on later, when experience and money permit.
Fireplay
Fire play is, along with really knowing how to use a full size whip, one of the most visually impressive scene acts. With whips, to get even passably proficient, you need to spend a lot of time practicing. Fire play, on the other hand, is relatively simple to start exploring - provided you follow some relatively simple rules. So, at the end of the day, how many Dominants would turn down the idea of a cool addition to their arsenal that is actually pretty easy to learn?
How To Make...
The idea of this section is to talk about how to make various scene toys and accessories. Anything that gets put in here will be something that we have made ourselves and so we know can and does work, plus we will have gone through making it ourselves so know where some of the potential pitfalls are and can warn you.

Our Toy Bag
Putting together your toy bag is always going to
be a personal thing. Your tastes and interests in the scene will dictate the
specifics, so no one else’s list will ever cover everything you will no doubt
wish to include. Still, hopefully our talking about what we keep in our bag
and, more importantly, the reasons why, may offer a few things you never thought
of - or simply trigger other thoughts.
We actually do not have a single toy bag. We do
not even manage to keep it all in bags or any other convenient container - toys
and equipment tend to turn up everywhere in our home (much to the concern of
our local visiting Mormon missionaries). That said, we do keep one core bag
with the most generic of supplies - mainly safety ones - so we can always pick
it up and take it with us wherever we are playing.
Piercing
A whole subsection on piercing. From aftercare techniques to a list of what all the different piercings are called - healing times to what actually happens.
Setting The Scene
This piece is about setting the mood, the lighting, sounds, ambience, etc. These aspects are easy to overlook but when used well can elevate a good scene to a truly great one. I am not going to attempt to go in to creating an elaborate dungeon scene, an interrogation booth or an Arabian harem. The idea is to cover the basic aspects that can make all the difference to a traditional scene, in somewhere like a bedroom, and can be selectively applied to more elaborate settings as you wish.
